Capiloscopy - Hair Transplantation Surgery

What Is Capilloscopy?

Capilloscopy is a check-up of hair and scalp, which is done physically with the help of a Capilloscope. It is a digital microscope that helps in viewing the physical condition of the scalp and hair.

Capilloscopy uses a non-invasive (no insertion of instruments into the body) technique to capture the image of one’s hair and scalp which has been recorded by the Capilloscope. The image then gets magnified on the video screen, thus providing a better view and understanding of the quality of hair and scalp. With new advancements in technology, Capilloscope offers a range of magnifying lenses that can be changed as per the desired magnification. The range of lenses varies from 10X, 50X, 100X and 200X. The advancement allows the Trichologist to take a closer look at patient’s dry/oily skin.

Magnifying the image provides doctor a clearer view of one’s hair density, diameter, and hair shaft in the follicle, thus making treatment efficient and effective. Trichologist can keep and access these captured digital images for the later use as well.
